With a Neapolitan at the helm, our main focus is to serve authentic dishes, based on fresh and high-quality ingredients. In our atmospheric restaurant on Jens Bangs Gade, we have welcomed all the best from Italy. From the small and delicious antipasti to the tasty main courses such as pasta, pizza, risotto, meat dishes, fish, soups and much more.
We have a strong respect for our Italian roots in our cooking, but also like to take geographical and gastronomic detours to other world cuisines.

In our take away department you can choose between pizzas, pasta and local dishes, salads, fish, soups and sandwiches as well as a selection of different drinks.
You can always choose to pick up your take away yourself in our Pizza Express in Urbansgade. We are open Monday to Saturday from 11.30 – 14.00 and all weekdays from 16.30
Prefer delivery? We deliver all weekdays from 17.00 – 21.00 for purchases over DKK 170. We charge a delivery fee of min. DKK 60 in 9000 Aalborg and Nørresundby Centrum.

We have made a great effort to select varied, exciting wines from both well-known and lesser-known regions of Italy.
Of course, it is always possible to ask our waiters for help in selecting the right wine to accompany your meal. As our wine list is regularly renewed, it will also be possible to explore our “rest wine cabinet” and make a great deal.
COCKTAILS
Our cocktail menu offers an excellent selection of wonderful classics and new interpretations, which can be enjoyed before or after dinner.
Should you arrive after 7.30pm and just fancy a drink – we can put together various offers with lovely treats.
DRINKS
For our guests who don’t want wine and cocktails, we have a wide selection of different beers – both on tap and in bottles. We also offer the Italian bottled beers from Moretti and Peroni.
You will also find water, juice, Coca Cola and Italian Pellegrino soft drinks on our drinks menu.
AZZURRA OFFERS THE ROOM “L’ANTIPASTO” FOR EVENTS
EVENTS & CATERING
Do you want to celebrate a special event in our restaurant – but preferably in private surroundings? Then our event room “L’antipasto” is the perfect choice. The room is located behind the restaurant and has hosted many meetings, private and corporate parties, receptions, weddings, christenings, confirmations, WineMakers dinners and briefings.
Our event room can accommodate up to 50 people. However, the room has been used for private dining for 10 people and receptions for 80 people. The menu is always organised and composed in collaboration with the guest’s wishes.
THE STORY OF RISTORANTE ITALIANO
1990 - NOW: Azzurra Italian restaurant started In Jens Bangs Gade in Aalborg.
Maurizio Quattromani opened Azzurra, on the 20th of June 1990 in Jens Bangs Gade, located in Vestbyen of Aalborg. Maurizio had previously trained as a chef and waiter at the hotel school in Naples and worked in the Italian Navy. While working for a short time in London, he met a Danish girl who brought him to Aalborg. Here Maurizio saw the possibilities of opening his own restaurant.
With a Neapolitan at the helm of this restaurant, there is a great focus on the quality of our pizzas. Although the selection doesn’t change – except for the pizza of the month – we make a point of working and improving our product all the time. So that the freshly baked pizza that is served for our guests gets the optimal crust.
The restaurant served then, as now, rustic Italian dishes taken from the local country kitchens of southern Italy, with a strong focus on quality and ingredients. Therefore, our fresh fruit and vegetables, as well as the Parma ham, are also carefully selected by Maurizio himself and are imported from Sicily as well as our pizza flour from Naples.
Azzurra has evolved into a dedicated restaurant that can provide everything from dine-in, take away and catering – most of all, we are probably known for our authentic pizzas that do well in the restaurant as well as on the dining table at home.
2003 - Now the event venue L'Antipasto in Jens Bangs Gade
In 2003 we expanded with the event room l’Antipasto. It turned out that there was a great need to hold private parties and celebrations as well as meetings and gatherings. The room has been used for anything from weddings, christenings, meetings, briefings, birthdays, parties and funerals.
There is plenty of space for 55 guests, but you can have 15 or 70 depending on the occasion. In some cases we have used it as a restaurant and created Winemakers menus or themed evenings.
